Where you'll work:
Our hybrid workplace model offers the freedom to work fully remote or occasionally in one of our offices. This is a remote position with a hybrid option for candidates based in Charlotte, NC.

How you'll contribute:
As a Compliance Analyst, you will be an individual contributor supporting the Company's Anti–Money Laundering ("AML"), Customer Relations, Privacy, and Regulatory Affairs Programs within the Compliance Programs & Contracts Law organization. Your primary responsibilities will include performing surveillance and regulatory reporting for the AML program, logging and managing customer complaints, coordinating analysis and notification for potential privacy incidents, and submitting filings on behalf of the Company. You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that will have direct and immediate benefits to the AML, Customer Relations, Privacy, and Regulatory Affairs programs and you will work with professionals across Compliance, Legal, Human Resources, Operations, and IT Risk, to administer and improve these programs.

As background, the Compliance Programs & Contracts Law organization has responsibility for policy and procedure governance, required training, regulatory affairs, privacy, AML, vendor contracting, intellectual property law, sales material review, distribution law, and investigations at the Company, playing a large part in ensuring that the Company complies with applicable laws and regulations governing our annuity and life insurance businesses.

In this role, you'll get to:

Submit regulatory filings on behalf of the Company to satisfy various state requirements for our annuity and life products.
Review new laws and regulations for applicability to the Company and work with relevant departments to understand implementation efforts for compliance with new laws.
Inventory and manage customer complaints from customers and/or regulators.
Prepare and file complaint reports with state insurance and securities regulators.
Review, log, and file, if necessary, federally required Suspicious Activity Reports.
Contribute to the Company's suspicious activity surveillance program by gathering data, formatting and distributing transactional surveillance reports, coordinating research performed by associates in the Company's various business operations, and drafting factual summaries.
Assist with the Company's Enhanced Due Diligence ("EDD") program, including responding to EDD requests from business partners and providing recommendations regarding high–risk customers and accounts.
Identify, investigate, mitigate, and report privacy incidents.
Assist in maintenance of departmental policies and procedures for the Company's AML and Privacy programs.
Identify and address control weaknesses through monitoring, testing, and remedial action plans.
Coordinate and produce metrics for the various oversight activities of the AML and Privacy programs.
Perform other duties to assist Compliance leadership as assigned or required.

We're looking for people who have:

A Bachelor's degree (preferred)
1 – 3 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry or in financial services performing in a capacity related to compliance, audit, legal, regulatory affairs or another related area
Intellectual curiosity, flexible and adaptable mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills & strong attention to detail
FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 26, or other securities registrations a plus
Knowledge of regulatory requirements in financial services industry, including insurance and securities industries
Excellent analytical, investigative, and writing skills
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) competency
