If the answer is "yes", then this is the position for you! Philips has a Legal Counsel vacancy within its Legal Function supporting (amongst others) the global Philips' IT business. The Philips' Legal Function spans a global network of over 200 professionals operating as one integrated internal law firm for Philips' businesses worldwide, advising on all legal matters relevant to the Philips' business. Your team The position is within Philips' Legal Innovation and M&A Group. You will be working closely together with our colleagues in IT, IT Procurement as well as with fellow in–house lawyers around the world. We are seeking a Legal Counsel who can deliver in this dynamic and complex environment. Your responsibilities In your role as Legal Counsel IT, you will provide legal support on all things digital and IT related under guidance and with support of senior legal counsels. You will act as a legal business partner for the global procurement of IT services, software as a service propositions and software licenses. You will report to the Head of CTO & IT Legal. Drafting and negotiating simple and straightforward supplier contracts without supervision; Advising on various legal and business aspects relevant to IT, including: infrastructure, networks, software licenses, SAAS and services, data protection, IT security, export control and intellectual property rights; Handling dispute resolution matters, including advice on course of action and any contractual and statutory requirements; Pro–actively identifying current and future risks and ensuring mitigation and/or prevention of such risks; Assisting and supporting senior legal counsels within the team on complex / high risk projects; Carrying out legal research into substantive legal domains and know–how relevant to new technologies and the law and drafting memo on findings to legal colleagues. Due to our prominent position in the healthcare and lifestyle domains world–wide, you will be expected to tackle demanding, cross–border legal and compliance issues. You are expected to be work regularly from Eindhoven (generally at least 1 day per week), but there is also the opportunity to work from our Amsterdam–based office. To succeed in this role, you'll need a customer–first attitude and the following A Master's degree in law and around 5 years of relevant experience, gained either as in–house counsel or in private practice within an international context; Experience gained in a fast–paced technology company supporting IT contracting is desirable, as well as an affinity for technology; Good business acumen and the ability to connect with people and other disciplines in multi–disciplinary teams; Excellent drafting and communication skills in English; The ability to deal with a high workload and a 'can do' mentality; A desire to work as 'one of the team' and as a team player.
