This role is an opportunity for a Paralegal to join a large, fast paced in–house legal team and work on a broad range of matters. The successful candidate will be required to support a team of six lawyers with legal research, drafting and advice tasks. The candidate will be required to work across areas of law including but not limited to information law, intellectual property, contracts, procurement, trusts, charity, litigation, insolvency, subsidy and state aid, public law and judicial review. In addition to providing research, drafting and general support to the Fund's lawyers, it is expected that the Paralegal will handle matters under supervision and use legal knowledge to improve the Fund's internal processes and precedents. The bulk of the Paralegal's workload will consist of legal support work, however the candidate will also be expected to perform some administrative tasks, and cover for the team's administrative officer when required. This role can be based at any of our UK offices, these are Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Newtown. It will be working with six lawyers, who are part of an overall team of twelve. The role does not include any line management responsibilities. Experience working in a fast paced in–house or private practice environment would be ideal, with legal research and drafting skills an advantage. Knowledge of insolvency and debt recovery would also be desirable. The role can be based at any of our UK offices, these are Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Newtown. For successful candidates based in London, you will be asked to complete national security vetting clearance so that you can access our Marsham Street Office. This involves passing a disclosure and barring check and Counter Terrorism Check.
