IP Legal Assistant/Paralegal
LHH Recruitment Solutions is actively seeking an experienced IP Legal Assistant/Paralegal for a reputable law firm client.
This position is fully onsite and can work out of Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC or Greenville, SC.
Main responsibilities to include:
- Conducting legal research: Research legal issues and precedents related to patent, trademark, and copyright law.
- Preparing legal documents: Draft and file patent applications, trademark applications, and copyright registrations. Also prepare responses to office actions, patent assignments, and licensing agreements.
- Managing case files: Organize and maintain case files, which includes tracking deadlines, managing correspondence, and maintaining electronic files.
- Communicating with clients: Communicate with clients to provide status updates on their cases and answer any questions they may have.
- Assisting with litigation: Assist attorneys with the discovery process, which includes gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and drafting legal briefs.
- Managing administrative tasks: Handle administrative tasks such as billing clients, managing calendars, and scheduling appointments.
Desired degree in paralegal studies and/or BA Degree
Strong understanding of intellectual property law.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additionally, they should be proficient in legal research databases and Microsoft Office applications.
