triOS College Business Technology Healthcare Inc., is actively seeking a Lawyer to join our team at the Mississauga Campus located inside Square One Mall.
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that students are supported with issues regarding housing. To advocate and provide high quality and effective legal advice for students with Landlord Tenant Act issues.
Additional issues that the lawyer will provide support to students are: family law, employment law, accidents, debt, human rights, offences, attestation of documents and intellectual property rights.
The Lawyer will support the vision, mission, and values of triOS College while contributing to a positive, supportive, and student–focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication, and readiness, embracing diversity, and fostering inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain regular office hours for student to drop in with legal questions.
Support students in addressing their concerns.
Deliver at least one information session per week for students.
Assist students to sign affidavits, supports students who require notary services.
Support students with Landlord Tenant Act Inquiries (E.g., harassment, maintenance issues or leases).
Family Law (E.g., custody, divorce, or adoption)
Employment Law (E.g., termination and employment contracts)
Accident Cases (personal injury and product liability)
General Debt (collection debt and defense claims)
Administrative (E.g., Immigration or Human Rights)
Offences (Criminal and Provincial)
Attestation of Documents (E.g., drafting affidavits)
Intellectual Property Rights
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Laws degree, Juris Doctor or equivalent.
Must be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a practicing lawyer
Knowledge of and experience with the Landlord Tenant Act.
Hours of Work:
This is a part–time position; Hours can be flexible.
Location:
This position will be working on–site at our Mississauga Campus located inside Square One Mall.
Start Date:
The scheduled start for this opportunity is immediate.
