Procurement Legal Specialist – Manchester
A unique opportunity for a commercial lawyer to work as in house counsel to the procurement team of this international law firm based at its offices in Manchester. The role is offered on a full or part time basis.
The role
Acting as in house counsel to the wider procurement team and business stakeholders
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of supplier agreements
Working on high value, high risk bespoke agreements, such as outsourcing, IT and software and service agreements, or lower value consultancy and non–disclosure agreements, including extensions and variations.
Working with the firms Office of the General Counsel and Information Security teams to ensure that appropriate due diligence is carried out on all suppliers
Advising stakeholders on the commercial and legal aspects of contracts, including highlighting any risks to the business
Train the Procurement team on new legislation which affects the team
Preparing new contract templates and develop a departmental precedent bank
Requirements
Legal qualification
Paralegal experience gained in commercial contracts
Good knowledge of data protection, intellectual property and IR35 would be an advantage, although training will be provided
