We make our mark by embracing the diversity of our global team, challenging ourselves, and striving to make a difference for our players.Well, what about the team?The Legal Interactive department advises the business across a wide range of legal issues including contract review and negotiation, regulatory developments, marketing, dispute resolution and intellectual property. Legal seeks to pro–actively identify legal risks and safeguard the business in accordance with commercial priorities, market developments and the group's risk framework. Dedicated teams support each Interactive geographical division (UK & Spain, Asia & Rest of World, North America), Interactive Corporate & M&A affairs, Group Content and Group Intellectual Property & Disputes.So, what will you be doing?
- Build and supervise a dedicated regional legal team that fully understands our business and commercial realities. Ensuring sufficient expertise within the unit and that legal work is allocated to the most appropriate person.
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements within the International Interactive division. Escalating as appropriate to the EVP/GC.
- Maintain and build the panel of external legal advisers worldwide. Engage and liaise with external legal partners instructing them on scope and delivering value for money.
- Manage the legal budget for the commercial unit as agreed with the EVP/GC.
- Where required, provide support to other areas of the group's legal function.
- Work across the business to ensure joined–up thinking with any number of group functions on a 'by project' basis. This includes Privacy, Compliance, Cyber, CoSec and Procurement.
- Support the wider legal team in developing and maintaining a precedent bank and program of learning & development sessions. Including for use within the International Interactive division.
- Possess a Law Degree
- Be admitted to the bar
- Have extensive experience in a law firm environment.
- Experience working on matters of corporate governance and with a board of directors.
- Experience in managing attorneys and supervising support staff.
- Experience with cost–effective management of outside legal resources.
- Able to demonstrate familiarity and understanding of Sarbanes–Oxley and legislation and related FASB revenue recognition guidelines.
- Experience in directing strategy and managing complex IP litigation cases.
