Holihan & Harchuck, a boutique intellectual property firm in Maitland, Florida, is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our team.

DESCRIPTION

This position involves supporting attorneys in complex federal litigation. You must be proficient in drafting and analyzing legal documents, and capable of performing tasks that require knowledge of civil litigation and intellectual property law. The position also requires organizational and administrative tasks as needed.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform legal research, including statutory analysis, review of case law, legislative history, and rules of procedure applicable to litigation matters, and efficiently advise attorneys of the
  • Perform factual research, including analysis of public records and secondary sources.
  • Prepare and file discovery documents, motions, and
  • Draft legal documentation and related
  • Assist in depositions, hearings, and other litigation
  • Review and/or prepare transactional legal documents (e.g.: contracts, licenses)
  • Interact and communicate with in–house counsel clients, opposing counsel, as well as intellectual property infringers who may be the subject of enforcement
  • Manage litigation and general Firm
  • Manage Firm's online file


Salary: $65k+ based on experience

REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of paralegal experience
  • Civil litigation experience
  • Trademark and copyright experience preferred Working knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Mac operating
  • Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, statutes, and e–filing.
  • Principles of legal writing and legal
  • Structure, procedural rules, and filing practices of federal courts at trial and appellate
  • Legal issue identification, analysis, and
  • Standard office practices and procedures, including the use of case management systems.
