Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced IP Attorney to join our legal team. As an IP Attorney, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and representation in all matters related to intellectual property. Your primary focus will be on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in IP law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to handle complex legal issues.
Responsibilities:
- Advise and counsel clients on intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to determine the uniqueness and eligibility of intellectual property for protection.
- Prepare and file patent, trademark, and copyright applications, and provide guidance throughout the registration process.
- Assist in drafting and negotiating licensing agreements, contracts, and other legal documents related to intellectual property.
- Provide strategic advice on intellectual property enforcement, infringement, and protection strategies.
- Conduct intellectual property due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
- Represent clients in intellectual property litigation, including drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and presenting arguments in court.
- Stay up–to–date with the latest developments in intellectual property law and advise clients accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as R&D, marketing, and business development, to identify and protect valuable intellectual property assets.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the Oklahoma.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing intellectual property law, preferably with a focus on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international intellectual property laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Proven experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
- Sound understanding of litigation procedures and experience in intellectual property litigation is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong client service orientation and ability to build and maintain client relationships.
