Legal Specialist

The Legal Specialist will be a vital member of the Legal Team, serving as the general administrative powerhouse across various legal disciplines. The role will focus most heavily on supporting the Commercial function of the team through contract management, system expertise, data management, and other administrative tasks, but will also offer more generalist tasks, such as maintaining the Legal Team's billing system. Most notably, the person in this role will continuously offer a fresh perspective on legal processes to improve the team's efficiency.

About the Team

The Legal Team is responsible for all in–house legal matters at Rapid7. Our focus areas are Commercial, Corporate & Securities, Intellectual Property, and Employment, and we are led by our General Counsel who oversees all areas. The Legal Team is constantly improving our own practices while advising others in the company on how best to balance risk and opportunity

The Legal Team uses a variety of technology, most notably, the Microsoft suite, GSuite, Salesforce, Netsuite, and Docusign.

About the Role

The Legal Specialist will play an important role as the operational expert for the Legal Team. The role will focus mostly on supporting the Commercial side of the house in maintaining accurate records, data management, and other administrative tasks, but will also support other areas of the Legal Team as an operational generalist.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide first–line client–centric legal support to our global sales team on day to day commercial and legal issues affecting our existing customer base
  • Provide administrative support to the Legal team
  • Maintain our document management system and associated integrations to ensure accurate document management for our ever–growing customer base
  • Manage the Legal Team's billing system for invoices from outside counsel
  • Monitor and track recurring legal issues affecting Rapid7's customer base and identify areas where there is scope for improvement and enablement
  • Develop the ability to complete more complex legal requests, like reviewing non–disclosure agreements
  • Time–permitting, support the other focus areas of the Legal Team in various administrative tasks related to the tasks identified above for the commercial function
