The Role

Location: Remote: UK, Finland, USA

The role of Legal Counsel is a newly created position here at Algorithmiq. We are looking for someone, to partner with our Senior Leadership, create a framework and deal with legal challenges globally.

We are looking for someone who can take on quickly ownership of the company's legal compliance, make critical judgement calls, work effectively with external stakeholders and is open to the challenge of joining a fast–paced start–up, entering a period of substantial growth.

Outcomes

• Implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure company compliance with laws and regulations.

• Provide advice and guidance on intellectual property to protect company assets.

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as NDA's, vendor contracts and licensing/technology agreements.

• Protection of intellectual property, patent drafting and prosecution.

• Advise on IP risks and opportunities.

• Advise on privacy policies and data protection relevant to the country.

• Draft and review employee related policies and procedures and advise on legal issues and compliance on labour code and work regulations in jurisdictions where the company has or plans to have employees

• Work closely with external stakeholders, representing Algorithmiq from a legal standpoint.

• Act as Data Protection Officer

A little about you

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel who can lead and guide the business as we continue our growth. You will be someone who can handle multiple projects/a high workload with minimal direction.

We are revolutionising the drug sector and we're very excited about the future, we are looking for a passionate and ambitious individual to join us on our journey and define our legal frameworks. You will:

• Have experience in an international corporate structure, with knowledge of Finnish, UK and US legal framework.

• Be experienced in licensing agreements & NDA's.

• Have experience working with HR departments on employee related matters.

• Have good knowledge of Data Protection/GDPR.

• Be confident dealing directly with external stakeholders/solicitors.

• Need previous legal experience, whether in–house or with a law firm.

• Previous experience working in a SaaS environment is definitely helpful.
