How You Will Make an Impact

  • Brand and IP Protection Counsel will assess and evolve the company’s brand protection and IP enforcement functions to improve existing strategies and identify innovative solutions to achieve brand protection goals
  • Brand and IP Protection Counsel will work collaboratively with internal, cross-functional teams to identify brand protection priorities 
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams and external legal and other services providers as necessary and as directed by the General Counsel to:
    • search and regularly monitor marketplaces, websites, social media, and domain names for infringements, counterfeits, and unauthorized use of intellectual property;
    • initiate removal and enforcement requests;
    • conduct research and investigations, coordinate test purchases, gather evidence, and determine authenticity of products;
    • provide legal advice on enforcement options and strategies; and
    • develop and execute recommended course of action
  • Brand and IP Protection Counsel will establish and document policies, processes, and procedures that incorporate best practices for managing the brand and IP protection function and educate internal teams
  • Brand and IP Protection Counsel will be a key legal adviser for various departments on a variety of other day-to-day legal matters 
  • Review, negotiate, and draft various commercial legal agreements and documents 
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and executive leadership and advise on a variety of legal issues 
  • Contribute to the development and management of business processes, guidelines, and procedures relating to the company’s legal department

What You Bring to the Table

  • Law degree from an accredited law school 
  • Admitted to the Florida Bar and in good standing, or eligible to register with the Florida Bar as Authorized House Counsel
  • Experience in brand and IP protection and enforcement both domestically in the US and in foreign countries
  • Experience in anti-counterfeiting activities
  • Ability to review, negotiate, and draft a variety of contracts and legal documents; must be able to draft contracts and other legal documents from the “ground up”
  • Experience marketing dietary supplements and cosmetics a strong plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • In-house counsel experience a plus
