Are you a qualified Legal Counsel who is ready to take the next steps into your career? We have an exciting opportunity for a full–time Legal Counsel to join our team based in Reigate on a permanent basis.

You will be working alongside a diverse, dedicated, & friendly team of experienced professionals who will help impact your knowledge and experience, allowing you to develop your skills and establish a strong career within the business.

Qualifications

What you'll do :

  • Consistent provision of high–quality business–focused legal advice, policy and direction
  • Work with and supporting Senior Legal Counsel (Regulatory, Corporate & Commercial, IT & Outsourcing) to provide a full legal service to all areas of the business, including commercial arrangements with third party suppliers and strategic partners
  • Operating both independently, and with senior colleague support, to drive approach, documentation and processes adopted by the business within applicable laws and regulation
  • Work collaboratively with business colleagues in relation to Esure compliance, contractual provisions and corporate structure including collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel, as appropriate
  • Clearly identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks and assist the business to handle residual risk in accordance with the company's regulatory licences and company policies
  • Analyse implication of relevant case law, legislation, and regulatory matters
  • Provide support in proactively maintaining customer documentation and standard form contracts ensuring these are up to date

What we're looking for:

  • A Solicitor or Barrister capable of holding a practising certificate in England and Wales
  • 1 – 4 years PQE or equivalent, experience in corporate, commercial, IT would be preferred but is not essential, or Regulatory areas of the law.
  • An understanding of the principles of contract law and a general understanding of business and financial principals that relate to services agreements
  • Ideally have worked and gained experience within one or more of these areas whether as a trainee or post qualification: General Commercial, Information Technology, Intellectual Property or Data Protection
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to demonstrate an aptitude for drafting documentation and have the ability to give commercially attuned advice
  • Demonstrate strong negotiating, influencing and persuading skills coupled with good organisational skills
  • Hold solid knowledge of the law and be able to grasp new concepts with ease and accuracy
