Job Details:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Patent Paralegal to join our legal team.
Responsibilities:
As a Patent Paralegal, you will:
1. Assist in the preparation and filing of patent applications in the US and internationally under the guidance of senior staff.
2. Manage and maintain patent portfolio, including docketing and tracking deadlines, preparing status reports, and liaising with outside counsel.
3. Conduct patent searches and analyze results to support the development of new products or technologies.
4. Prepare and file responses to office actions and other official correspondence from the USPTO, PCT, and foreign patent offices.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a clear understanding of patent prosecution status and timelines.
6. Assist in due diligence exercises and provide advice on patent–related issues.
7. Maintain an up–to–date understanding of patent laws and regulations, including changes that may affect the company's intellectual property rights.
8. Provide training to staff on patent–related matters.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Patent Paralegal position will have:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Patent Paralegal, preferably in a law firm.
2. Demonstrated experience in patent prosecution, including preparing and filing patent applications in the US and internationally.
3. Strong knowledge of US, PCT, and foreign patent laws and procedures.
4. Proficiency in patent search databases and patent docketing systems.
5. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
6. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce high–quality work under pressure.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal information clearly and effectively.
8. A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. A paralegal certificate from an ABA–approved program is preferred.
