Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Patent Paralegal to join our reputable legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast–paced, high–performance environment where your expertise will significantly contribute to our IP practice.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including drafting and revising applications, forms, and declarations.
2. Coordinate foreign patent filings and PCT applications with foreign associates.
3. Manage patent docket for deadlines, ensure all filings are completed in a timely manner, and maintain updated information on patent applications.
4. Prepare and submit IDS to the USPTO, including gathering prior art references, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with USPTO rules.
5. Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, foreign associates, and other staff to ensure smooth workflow.
6. Conduct patent searches and basic patent analysis under the guidance of attorneys.
7. Maintain an organized and updated database of all patent–related documents.
8. Assist in the preparation of reports for clients regarding pending patent applications and granted patents.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Patent Paralegal, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department.
2. Profound knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent laws, USPTO procedures, and PCT procedures.
3. Proven experience in preparing and filing patent applications, managing patent dockets, and preparing IDS.
4. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast–paced environment.
7. Proficiency in using patent databases, patent docketing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Paralegal certification or equivalent is preferred.
9. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong analytical and problem–solving skills.
11. Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and delivering high–quality service.
