ABOUT THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART
As the first museum to focus exclusively on storytelling through images, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art believes that visual storytelling can connect us and help shape a more just society. With a growing collection that encompasses artworks from across cultures, places, times, and mediums, including paintings, sculptures, murals, photography, comic art, book and magazine illustrations, and the arts of filmmaking, the Lucas Museum will explore narrative art's potential to prompt questions, invite opinions, inspire community, and move people to think about the impact of images on our world.
Co–founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson and led by director and CEO Sandra Jackson–Dumont, the Lucas Museum was designed by renowned architect Ma Yansong of MAD Architects with Stantec as executive architect and is under construction in Los Angeles's Exposition Park. An 11–acre campus with extensive new green space designed by Studio–MLA will embrace the museum's 300,000–square–foot building, which will feature expansive galleries, two state–of–the–art theaters, and dedicated spaces for learning and engagement, dining, retail, and events. .
POSITION SUMMARY
The Lucas Museum is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented Executive Legal Assistant for a unique opportunity to support the museum's first General Counsel. This position will provide essential support to our legal department and be responsible for providing administrative support to the General Counsel, conducting research, drafting legal documents, maintaining accurate records, and generally ensuring the smooth and efficient management of our legal forms and contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Legal support
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing legal correspondence and documents
- Conduct research on legal matters relevant to museum operations, including intellectual property, contracts, compliance, and regulations
Contract and document management
- Draft, proofread, and maintain various types of contracts while collaborating closely with internal departments, external vendors, and legal teams
- Review and proofread documents for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to legal requirements
- Maintain an organized repository of contracts and other legal department documents, ensuring easy access and retrieval of relevant documents. Maintain templates and standardized forms to streamline document creation
Intellectual Property and Compliance
- Assist with trademark and copyright matters, including research, documentation and application filing
General Counsel Assistance
- Manage the General Counsel's calendar and appointments
- Assist in preparing for meetings, conferences, and presentations
- Handle communication and correspondence on behalf of the General Counsel
- Arrange travel, accommodations and related tasks
- Assist in developing and maintaining legal document templates and models
- Support legal department collaboration and communication with other museum departments

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field. A legal background or paralegal certification is a plus, as is experience working in a law firm or legal department, or work in contract administration, contract management, or a related field
- Experience with legal research tools, databases and contract management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and comprehensive contract documents. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Detail–oriented with a strong aptitude for organization and multitasking
