General Counsel

General Counsel Description
We are seeking a dedicated General Counsel to provide expert legal guidance and counsel to the company on a wide range of issues related to our business operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. You will review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and legal documents, including vendor contracts, leases, and partnership agreements.

• Stay current with relevant laws and regulations affecting company operations, ensuring proactive compliance and risk management
• Oversee and manage any legal disputes or litigation involving the company, including working closely with external legal counsel when necessary
• Protect and manage the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights
• Assist in matters related to corporate governance, including board meetings, annual reports, and other corporate compliance requirements
• Conduct legal research to support decision–making and provide clear, concise legal opinions to the executive team
• Develop, review, and update company policies and procedures to ensure they are legally compliant and align with best practices
• Provide legal training and guidance to employees and management to enhance legal awareness and compliance within the organization

General Counsel Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed a Juris Doctor (J.D.) program and be licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana
• Must have passed the Louisiana State Bar examination and be in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar Association
• 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and understandable manner
• Strong analytical and problem–solving abilities to assess legal issues and provide strategic solutions
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documents and contracts.
