A New York City healthcare network is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new Contracts Specialist to their staff. In this role, the Contracts Specialist will be responsible for handling contract review on new or updated contracts that are coming in through the contract queue.

This is a Hybrid opportunity requiring the qualified professional to work onsite at least two days a week (Wednesday & Thursday are mandatory).

Responsibilities:

The Contracts Specialist will:
  • Negotiate Master Services Agreements ("MSA"), Software as a service ("SaaS"), Master License Agreements ("MLA") and sometimes complex statements of work ("SOW")
  • Review, address, and correct as required, all bids/or contracts
  • Work with the Legal department to draft and modify licensing and service contract terms in accordance with policies, customer specification and legal requirements
  • Administer the contract management process under the direction of their supervisor:
  • Review incoming contract /MSAs review requests for completeness and accuracy
  • Oversee the maintenance and integrity of all contract and statement /quotes files
  • Oversee the filing of all final contracts and completes the meta (key word) data for each agreement filed
  • Work with the Finance team to verify funding for proposed requests
  • Work with compliance unit of legal to ensure all BAAs are filed in files and also in compliance files
  • Oversee the execution of signatures by vendor and internally for approved agreements
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience as a Paralegal and/or a similar role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Legal Services and/or Information Technology; or, Paralegal certification; or, Juris Doctorate
  • Experience with Contracts, specifically some or all of the following: Master Agreements, Master License Agreements, and SaaS Agreements
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve problems as well as follow through on assignments with minimum direction
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Healthcare Contracts
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts involving Intellectual Property and understanding the sourcing process
  • Experience in Healthcare and/or Tech industry
  • Experience in using Contract Lifecycle management system
