Our client is a well–managed and very highly regarded City of London firm, with a strong reputation for advising a client list comprising well–known brands from the technology, fintech and fashion industries. The firm was started by Partners from much larger firms determined to take their clients to a platform, where they could continue to provide them with high quality legal advice in a more bespoke environment.
During the pandemic the firm grew, hiring Partners and Associates who were attracted by the firm's strong values, stable of well–known clients and the firm's dynamic and collegial environment: cross–department sector groups lead to a close–knit, motivated and collaborative organisational culture.
Due to growing client demand, the firm now offers a mid–level Commercial/Intellectual Property lawyer an exciting opportunity to focus on the exciting fashion and technology sectors. The firm has a great reputation within these areas, and this opportunity would be a very positive career step for the right person.
In order to be considered, you will probably be a Commercial/IP Associate with 2–4 years' PQE who can demonstrate high quality experience of drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements with a particular focus on:
- Agency agreements and advice to agents and principals subject to the Commercial Agents Regulations
- Distributorship agreements
- Drafting and advice in relation to online platforms, website terms and conditions for static or transactional websites and social media sites or mobile apps
- Non–contentious intellectual property: licensing, franchising, ownership and protection of IP in the context of commercial agreements
The successful candidate will probably have gained experience from a City, West End, high quality regional, or international firm. Many of the firm's Partners and Associates have joined from far larger international law firms, drawn by high quality work and clients, and a far more friendly and personal working style.
If you're successful, you'll be encouraged to take on a high level of responsibility. You'll be client facing on a daily basis, and also involved in business development activities with a view to developing client relationships.
