Position Summary:
We seek a talented and collaborative patent litigator to manage a docket of patent infringement matters at our Mountain View, California, location. Responsibilities Include:
- Manage outside counsel in patent, along with other intellectual property, litigation matters
- Coordinate internal document collection and production
- Oversee the preparation of witnesses for depositions, hearings and trial
- Come up with winning litigation strategies and tactics
- Assist in drafting and reviewing briefs, motions and court pleadings
- Manage litigation costs, including e–discovery and outside counsel fees
- Advise management and internal teams on patent law related issue
Experience Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate and licensed to practice law in the State of California or qualify to register as California in–house counsel or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 7+ years' experience of patent litigation at a law firm and/or as an in–house counsel
- Proven written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on conflict resolution
- Broad range of patent litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, arguing dispositive motions, jury trial/bench trial, arbitration and mediation, e–discovery, investigations before the International Trade Commission, PTAB–related proceedings, and experience before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
- Demonstrated ability to formulate successful, complex pre–litigation and litigation strategies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team across countries, regions and business units, including the ability to be diplomatic and culturally sensitive
- Background in engineering a plus
- U.S. Patent and Trademark Office admission a plus
- Federal judicial clerkships a plus
- Ability to converse in Korean a plus
