Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support our Immersive Technology services for Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on–demand compute, storage, database, messaging, and more. AWS also develops advanced machine learning, edge compute, and other devices and services.

We're looking for a products counseling attorney to support some of AWS's most innovative Immersive Technology tools and services. In this role, you will work directly with the business teams as lead counsel to develop new spatial computing products and services that help customers combine the virtual and physical worlds, including through AWS's gaming, geospatial, and 3D content creation offerings like Amazon GameLift, Amazon Location Service, and AWS Thinkbox Deadline, among others. Duties include: identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies; advising on regulatory and compliance matters, privacy, intellectual property, and go–to–market strategy; drafting and negotiating commercial licensing agreements; and providing day–to–day input on business strategy. Your role will give you the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including privacy, marketing, and public policy teams.

You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business–centric ways, and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Juris Doctor (J.D.) and admitted to at least one state bar (or equivalent)
5+ years of sophisticated legal experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with technology, IP licensing and technology transactions, data privacy, cloud computing, or enterprise software systems
A combination of law firm and in–house experience
Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross–functional team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Sound and practical business judgment
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job–related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
