Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a to join our Legal team as a Sr. Director, Associate General Counsel – IP Litigation and Enforcement. As aSr. Director, Associate General Counsel – IP Litigation and Enforcement you will develop and oversee intellectual property litigation and enforcement strategies and activities, and provide related advice and analysis to internal stakeholders. As an integral member of Maravai's small, but high–performing and nimble legal team, he or she will also advise on IP–related business strategy, patent prosecution, IP–related transactions, general litigation and other legal matters. This role reports to Maravai's EVP & General Counsel, Kurt Oreshack.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop and oversee intellectual property litigation and enforcement strategy
  • Manage outside counsel
  • Implement and oversee litigation discovery systems and compliance
  • Advise on IP–related business strategy, including patent prosecution
  • Conduct strategic IP analysis of the competitive landscape
  • Negotiate strategic transactions and collaborations
  • Assist with general litigation matters
  • Support and resolve customer, supplier, and other commercial disputes
  • Set and meet aggressive deadlines, handle multiple complex legal matters, and complete projects in a timely manner

The skills and experience that you will bring:

  • Advanced degree in molecular biology or related discipline required, Ph.D. preferred
  • Juris Doctorate and admission to practice law in at least one US state required
  • USPTO (or foreign equivalent) registered patent attorney preferred
  • 7+ years of IP and patent litigation and enforcement experience in life sciences required, preferably in a combination of law firm and in–house environments
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication stills, with an ability to work effectively with Maravai team members at every level of the organization across a wide rage of scientific knowledge levels
  • Solution–oriented, self–motivated, independent, poised, persuasive and constructive
  • High degree of professionalism and ethical standards

The anticipated salary range for this position is $271,758 – $305,423 . In addition, highly competitive long–term incentives in the form of company equity, bonus participation and company sponsored benefits are provided as part of the total compensation package. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.
