That's how we drive impact – for ourselves, our company, and the communities we serve.Join us.About the teamThe US Commercial, IP & Law Enforcement Legal Team (the "Team") is a member of the AMS legal team covering the Americas region, primarily covering TikTok and supporting other products and services. The Team provides key commercial and intellectual property legal support for all TikTok's innovative initiatives, state–of–the–art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video and other markets. We are organized into six functional verticals: content, corporate services, distribution, functional services, intellectual property, and B2C marketing. We help our business, product, and functional teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The Team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join us. We need an experienced commercial counsel who can handle commercial work and counseling across many of our verticals. The following describes the responsibilities and requirements for the role.Responsibilities:– Provide strategic counsel on a broad range of initiatives and draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements in many of our product verticals for both TikTok and other products and services such as Pico, CapCut, Lemon8, SoundOn, etc.– The appropriate candidate will have the opportunity to support our intellectual property subject matter vertical.– Work cross–functionally with business and legal colleagues locally (US, AMS–wide) and worldwide to support the global businesses of TikTok.– Support senior members of the team on multiple verticals as requested, but primary support will be for distribution and product partnerships, content and marketing.
– At least 7 years of experience in media, entertainment, marketing, distribution and/or technology matters–A track record of closing challenging deals and advising in digital subject matter.– Confident, ownership–styled personality, who is comfortable in uncertainty, high work volumes, and demanding client stakeholders.– Bachelor's degree plus a Juris Doctorate from an ABA–accredited law schoolTikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $180500 – $303240 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
