Our client, a leading international law firm, are looking to expand their trademarks team with the addition of a trainee paralegal based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to learn a new profession and full training will be provided
The ideal person will have a background in professional services, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. The position will be fully office based for the first couple of months but will offer more flexibility once you have completed your training
This is a fantastic opportunity with lots of scope for progression and development
Some of the responsibilities will include:
- Provide full administration service for the legal formalities of clients' trademarks and designs internationally to ensure intellectual property rights are not lost
- Ensure trademark filings are maintained with 100% accuracy
- Working as part of a fast–paced team you will process work on behalf of attorneys to meet the required deadlines
- Prepare cost estimates at the Attorney/client's request
- Ensure that the internal database is updated and accurate
- Prepare and execute any legally required documentation
- Continually monitor the status of trademarks and designs within your portfolio ensuring that contact with local counsel and the client is maintained
- Liaise with Attorneys and local counsel to ensure actions assigned to them are progressed within the required timescales and update them on progress
- Regularly update your trademark and design knowledge worldwide as legislation often changes in each country
- Produce correspondence and communications for clients and trademark authorities using standard templates and emails
Experience Needed:
- Previous administration experience in a professional services environment is required
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service
- Ability to work in a fast–paced environment and juggle a busy workload
- Composed when working under pressure
- Ability to effectively prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
