Venesky–Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Stirling, is currently looking to recruit x2 Qualified Solicitors for an initial 3 month contract on an annual salary equivalent between GBP39,535 and GBP44,724. This role will be remote working, with minimal travel to Edinburgh or Stirling. Responsibilities:– To provide legal advice on Contract and Commercial law.– Assist the Corporate Solicitor to deliver legal advice for the organisation with particular focus in the areas of both Contract and Commercial law: Commercial conveyancing (sale of properties and commercial leasing); Commercialisation (consultancy and corporate work), contracts and procurement including commercial contracts (subsidy control and competition) and terms and conditions including data licensing (intellectual property, liability and indemnity, data protection etc) charging schemes and general governance. – Drafting related documentation, including leases, various agreements (including grant agreements); contracts (including NEC3 and NEC 4); guarantees (relating to financial provision requirements) data licences and assignations (including intellectual property rights); indemnifications; memoranda of understanding, procurement terms and conditions and charging schemes. – Providing full written and oral advice as required within the organisation. – Representing the organisation at external stakeholder meetings. – Instructing external legal agents and monitoring their work. – Carry out such other tasks as may be instructed by the Corporate Solicitor.– To assist the Corporate Solicitor in relation to all other corporate legal issues in particular by provision of legal advice and guidance.– To contribute to the successful establishment of an integrated legal teamEssential Skills:– Two qualified solicitors with current unrestricted Law Society of Scotland Practising Certificates.– LLB Degree and Diploma in legal practice or equivalent– Essential to have legal experience in relation to contract law and a basic technical/scientific understanding to appreciate the potential impact of legal advice on the organisation and to be up to date with legislation.Desirable Skills:– Desirable to have knowledge of intellectual property law; data protection law; and freedom of information laws.
