As a Global Trademark Docketing and Renewal Specialist on Yum! Brands’ Intellectual Property (IP)/Global Brand Protection team, you will play a meaningful role in building and protecting some of the world’s most recognizable and inspirational brands. You will aid in managing the global trademark and copyright portfolios for KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and The Habit Burger and be part of a high-performing, collegial team. To be successful, you must be a self-starter with high attention to detail, a flexible and critical thinker, and a proven communicator adept at working in a team-focused environment.

Core Responsibilities

The Global Trademark Docketing and Renewal Specialist will:

• Manage WebTMS docketing database of 40,000+ records, including trademark, dispute (opposition/cancelation), and copyright modules
• Review incoming and outgoing domestic and international trademark correspondence; enter/clear deadlines, upload correspondence, and input notes in docketing system; forward to attorneys and paralegals as needed
• Instruct trademark agents to complete renewals and changes of address/entity name; ensure completion by agents, providing any documentation that may be needed
• Compile and circulate deadline reminders and docket, portfolio, and audit reports
• Assist with mentoring and training relating to docketing duties
• Participate in special projects for the IP/Global Brand Protection team, including  establishing guidelines, processes, and procedures to enable the IP/Global Brand Protection team to provide best-in-class service to its business partners

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in trademark docketing
• Experience with IP portfolio management databases (experience with WebTMS preferred) and online trademark office databases
• Experience corresponding with trademark agents globally
• Experience filing renewals, and instructing changes of entity name/ address and assignments
• Experience overseeing high-volume, working docket with numerous deadlines
• Track record of providing detailed examination and good judgment with ability to reason when issues need escalation for deeper discussion

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
• Experience crafting and delivering impactful training materials; adept at using PowerPoint and other presentation tools

Salary Range: $76,000 to $90,000 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
