My client is a well established Biotechnology company specializing in procuring medication for conditions and diseases associated to the neurological systems.

They are seeking a Sr. IP Counsel with large molecule experience to join their Biologics team.

Responsibilities of the IP Counsel:

  • Finding discoveries, creating patents, and pursuing patents for biologics and gene therapy
  • Executing strategic IP due diligence, including examination of rivals' and possible partners' patent portfolios
  • Working and communicating with partners and other external strategic partners
  • Examining and negotiating license contracts and any IP provisions in other contracts
  • Supporting the development of biosimilars
  • Communicating with external counsel

Qualifications of the IP Counsel:

  • JD from an established institution
  • PhD in genetics, immunology, biochemistry, virology or related discipline preferred OR Master's degree in genetics, immunology, biochemistry, virology or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Large molecule experience necessary
  • Strong verbal/communication skills

This role is in San Diego and requires to go in office 2–3 days a week.
