Job Details:
We are seeking a results–driven Intellectual Property (IP) Attorney to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a key player in managing, protecting, and enforcing our company's intellectual property rights. This role involves working closely with our finance department, providing legal advice on IP matters, and developing strategies to safeguard our assets.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and manage the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, in collaboration with the finance department.
2. Provide legal advice on IP matters to the finance team, including patentability, validity, and freedom to operate analyses.
3. Draft, negotiate, and review agreements involving IP rights, including license agreements, confidentiality agreements, and joint development agreements.
4. Represent the company in legal proceedings related to IP disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
5. Work closely with the finance team to develop strategies for the protection and enforcement of the company's IP rights.
6. Conduct IP due diligence in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
7. Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and industry trends related to IP and finance, and provide training to the finance team on these topics.
8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure the company's IP strategy aligns with its overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. At least 3 years of experience as an IP Attorney, Senior IP Attorney, or Intellectual Property Attorney.
3. Admission to practice law in the state.
4. Strong background in IP licensing agreements
5. Proven experience in managing an IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
6. Extensive knowledge of IP laws and regulations, as well as industry trends.
7. Excellent negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution skills.
8. Strong analytical and problem–solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on the analysis of complex data.
9. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non–legal professionals.
10. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast–paced environment.
11. High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
