Position: Patent Attorney / Agent / Electrical Software Mechanical

Location: Boston, MA (Remote)

Experience: 5+ years

Type: Full–time

About the Role

IP Recruiter Group is recruiting for a Patent Attorney or Patent Agent opportunity to work from anywhere, fully remotely. Your responsibilities will depend on your legal experience and/or technical background, including:

  1. Preparation and prosecution of US patents
  2. Strategic portfolio counseling
  3. Patent opinions (validity, infringement, right to use, patentability)
  4. Possible PTAB, licensing, and trademark work

Depending on your technical background, you may deal with various engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, software, mechanical, computer, biomedical, materials, nanotechnology, physics, chemical). This practice has been steadily growing in all of the above scientific and technical areas, thus most technical backgrounds would be considered.

Notably, the excess of work has stimulated flexibility regarding the nature of the opportunity. This could be a part–time (preferably at least 25 hours per week) or full–time position. We are looking for a long–term fit; this is not a temporary role. If you are a highly–experienced patent practitioner who is tired of the pressures and billing games present at some law firms, and wants to focus on providing high–quality work with zero business development or administrative distractions, then this could be the place for you.

For more experienced practitioners, a book is not required, but if you do have a book you would like to bring and expand upon, you would have the flexibility to build a practice within a practice here while having the support of a highly credentialed and talented group of peers and a strong administrative and paralegal team.

Requirements
  1. Minimum BS in Engineering (MS or higher preferred)
  2. Patent Bar (and any State Bar for an associate) are required
  3. At least 7 years of solid US patent preparation and prosecution experience
