Position description:

Part-time variable as needed by the firm with the potential to increase for work on trademark and copyright matters including: 

analyzing and reporting trademark search results;

reporting and responding to Office Actions;

assessing adequacy of specimens of use;

counseling clients on trademark and copyright law;

working with foreign associates to facilitate registration;

drafting and negotiating intellectual property related agreements;

drafting and responding to cease and desist letters;

handling oppositions and cancelations before the TTAB; and

assisting with litigation in federal court.

Qualifications:

NY bar admission and location in vicinity of NYC preferred;

a minimum of 5 years of trademark prosecution experience, 10+ years of experience preferred;

the ability to “translate” trademark concepts into language easily understood by non-attorney clients;

detail-oriented and thorough;

the ability to problem-solve creatively;

strong interpersonal skills/emotional intelligence;

the ability to produce high-quality work product;

strong drafting skills; and

strong communication skills.
