Position: Trademark Litigation Paralegal, Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Summary: Performs a variety of duties for clients under attorney supervision. Maintains positive contact with clients, attorneys, and staff and observes confidentiality of client matters.

- Bachelor's degree and strong academic record required.
- Paralegal certificate from and ABA accredited program preferred.
- Minimum four to five years of law firm experience; preferably with an Intellectual Property litigation practice.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools at an intermediate or advanced level, specifically Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Proficient with software including but not limited to document management, records management, docket management, USPTO research tools, and Pacer.
- Familiar with procedural rules including but not limited to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Local Rules, Appellate Rules, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Manual of Procedures (TBMP), and Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).
- Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities to resolve issues proactively.
- Must be a reliable self-starter with the ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to proofread materials for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.
- Excellent teamwork skills and a strong client service orientation.
- Ability to perform well in a high-pressure environment, with excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks in an efficient manner under time constraints and with interruptions and competing deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.
- Must be able to set and meet deadlines without reminders from others.
- Strong internet research skills and computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be available to work overtime, including weekend hours, when necessary to meet established deadlines or stay current with occasional peaks in workload.
- Must have the ability to work in an organized, efficient manner, be willing to support the department with general administrative duties and special projects as needed.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain litigation and policing client/matter files including official papers.
- Prepare complaints, notices of opposition, answers, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, deposition notices, declarations, proposed orders, exhibit appendices, and correspondence.
- Assist with document collection processes, including identifying documents responsive to discovery requests, and overseeing document production.
- E-file documents in various courts and administrative agencies, including but not limited to all Federal Courts, U.S. Court of Appeals (all Circuits), USPTO Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and the Forum (domain name dispute proceedings), and state court.
- Perform factual and legal cite checking of motions and briefs utilizing key cite checking authorities.
- Prepare materials for and assist attorneys with court proceedings including but not limited to hearings, depositions, arbitration, and trial.
- Review trademark watch notices and draft reports to clients on recommended actions.
- Manage enforcement projects including ensuring matters progress and marks are monitored.
- Coordinate with external vendors.
- Maintain physical and electronic files.
- Review incoming correspondence, determine appropriate action.
- Review and maintain docket and update as appropriate.
- Share responsibility with attorneys for meeting all deadlines.
- Maintain daily timekeeping for billing purposes, entering time records daily.
- Other related tasks and duties as requested.
