Forward is on a bold mission to make high–quality healthcare available to a billion people across the globe. We're building the world's most advanced healthcare platform from the ground up, combining hardware, software, and doctors under one roof.

Forward was founded in January 2016 by former executives and engineering leaders from Google and Uber. We are funded by some of the world's best investors and entrepreneurs, including Founder's Fund, Khosla Ventures, First Round Capital, Eric Schmidt (Google/Alphabet Chairman), Marc Benioff (Salesforce Founder), Joe Lonsdale (Palantir Founder), and Garrett Camp (Uber co–Founder).

You Will:

  • Be a key partner for Forward's business teams, including our Product, Engineering, Medical and Marketing teams, providing proactive legal and regulatory advice throughout the product/service lifecycle.
  • Understand and stay up to date on laws and regulations related to Forward's products and services, including federal and state healthcare regulatory requirements and FDA regulations.
  • Own a range of legal issues related to Forward and its business – in addition to product counseling, be agile and prepared to provide guidance on a wide range of topics, including marketing collateral, federal and state privacy and data protection issues, and intellectual property matters.
  • Build with and be a sounding board for others on the Legal & Compliance team.
  • Be a trusted advisor to your Forward colleagues, and field and clarify questions from a variety of internal stakeholders.
  • Be prepared to advocate for Forward with external stakeholders, including regulators, vendors and customers.

You Are:

  • Mission–driven: Our ultimate goal is to help others by bringing them access to better care. We want to bring people on board who share that passion and drive and are motivated to help us get there.
  • Curious: You love to learn, and are comfortable diving into new challenges. Forward operates in a heavily regulated industry and is a full–stack company, so you will cover a lot of ground and a wide range of topics.
  • Practical: You are able to give considered, pragmatic advice without perfect information. You are able to break down ideas into components to bring other stakeholders along and ensure efficient execution of projects.
  • Collaborative: You take the time to build relationships with your colleagues, both within the Legal & Compliance team and beyond, to ensure effective communication. We are a flat organization, so everyone's voice is important.
  • Proactive: You're a self–starter who owns their work and drives projects forward. You immerse yourself in our business initiatives to give real–time advice.
  • Adaptable: You're comfortable with change and able to pivot as our business evolves.
