Requirements: 2+ years experience with Commercial/Complex Commercial Litigation
Position Overview:
A commercial litigation attorney provides legal representation and advice to clients in commercial disputes. This may involve representing businesses, organizations, or individuals in cases involving breach of contract, fraud, intellectual property infringement, or other business–related legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and arguments
- Draft legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and briefs
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients
- Advise clients on legal rights and obligations
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to develop and execute case strategies
- Manage and prioritize a caseload, including meeting deadlines and keeping clients informed of case developments
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documents
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the state where the attorney will be working
- 2+ yrs prior experience in commercial litigation, preferably in a law firm setting
- Strong understanding of business and commercial law
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
