The successful applicants will be responsible for, but not limited to, managing a portfolio of trade marks and patents. This includes drafting and preparing applications, renewals and assignments, conducting searches and maintaining the intellectual property database. A strong technical knowledge of the general principles of intellectual property law is required. In addition, the successful applicants will also have to answer general inquiries, follow up on accounts receivable and perform other related duties as required.
Applicants must have at least 5 years prior experience handling IP matters, including experience in handling foreign trade mark and patent applications. Experience in handling office actions, oppositions, invalidity and revocation proceedings and drafting licenses and co-existence agreements in respect of patent and trade mark prosecution is required. The applicants must be team players with good interpersonal skills and be able to observe meticulous procedural discipline as well as possess excellent time management and organizational skills. A strong working knowledge of MS Office is required, specifically MS Word, Outlook and Excel. Knowledge of Patrix software would be an advantage.
The applicants will also be expected to engage in the marketing of the business by attending international conferences and undertaking other business development initiatives.
