Why this job's a big deal:You will support the General Counsel. Priceline is looking for an inquisitive, engaging, and experienced senior lawyer to work as the lead lawyer for Priceline's Accommodations business.
In this role you will get to:- Serve as the Chief Legal Advisor for the rapidly expanding accommodations division of Priceline, offering comprehensive legal support across all business needs.
- Lead and Oversee Commercial Contracting for all services and products within the Accommodations business, ensuring successful negotiation and closure of contracts.
- Provide General Counseling on day–to–day issues, including collaboration on supplier communications, offering strategic legal guidance to support business operations and decision–making.
- Advise on Strategic Partnership Opportunities, including licensing for new business initiatives and supporting the sales team in expanding the business.
- Negotiate Major Agreements with hotel chain partners and other key stakeholders to secure content supply and other strategic partnerships.
- Resolve Complex Business and Legal Issues by applying your intellectual curiosity and proactive approach to navigate and mitigate risks.
- Develop and Implement Standardized Processes and templates to streamline legal operations and enhance efficiency.
- Manage Legal Escalations within the business, including collaboration with stakeholders on litigation matters and alternative dispute resolution methods, to effectively address and mitigate conflicts.
- Collaborate with Cross–Functional Teams globally to address and resolve issues related to privacy, data security, marketing, competition, intellectual property, tax, and regulatory compliance, ensuring product integrity and customer trust.
- Manage External Counsel on escalated commercial and corporate matters, providing guidance and oversight to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Exercise Executive Leadership by partnering with key stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, execute business objectives, and achieve tangible results, demonstrating autonomy and an ownership mentality.
- At least 15 years of legal experience as a qualified attorney; including at least 3 years of in house experience.
- Prior experience in the travel industry, specifically with Accommodations businesses (e.g., hotels, Online Travel Agencies, room distribution networks).
- Tech experience is a plus.
- The bulk of your experience will have been in concluding commercial contract negotiations with a diverse range of business partners. However, some corporate law and dispute resolution experience will be a bonus.
- Prior experience with legal issues arising from cross–border transactions (e.g. USA– Canada).
- Prior experience with holding companies, including intercompany agreements.
- Exceptional legal education and law firm credentials.
- Member in good standing with your state bar, with permission and ability to work in your hired location.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills are essential.
- Knowledge and experience of consumer law and Privacy, as well as general knowledge of legal issues facing tech companies is strongly preferred.
- You will be comfortable working with a contract management tool for contract administration processes while being equally comfortable to partner with the business in managing contracts through to completion.
- Travel will be required (typically in the U.S. and Canada) to visit business leaders and to conduct negotiations with partners.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.
The salary range for this position is $180,000 – $225,000.
