We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Patent Attorney to join our high–performing legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development and protection of our innovative intellectual property portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting patentability and infringement analyses, and developing patent strategies. You will work closely with our scientific team, leveraging your technical knowledge in areas such as biology, cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemistry, nucleic acid therapeutics, immunotherapeutics, delivery vectors, and organic chemistry.

Responsibilities:

• Draft and prosecute high–quality patent applications in areas such as biology, cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemistry, nucleic acid therapeutics, immunotherapeutics, delivery vectors, and organic chemistry.
• Conduct comprehensive patentability and infringement analyses.
• Develop and implement effective patent strategies to protect the company's intellectual property.
• Collaborate with the scientific team to understand and evaluate the potential patentability of new inventions and developments.
• Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of patent and intellectual property law matters.
• Conduct patent searches and analyze competitor patents.
• Manage the patent portfolio, including licensing and infringement matters.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a patent attorney, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
• Extensive knowledge of patent law and practice, including patent application drafting, prosecution, analysis, and strategy development.
• Strong technical background in areas such as biology, cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemistry, nucleic acid therapeutics, immunotherapeutics, delivery vectors, and organic chemistry.
• Excellent legal research skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse and complex workload.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong analytical and problem–solving skills.
• Detail–oriented with a commitment to high standards of work product.
