Job Details

Our client, a prestigious AmLaw law firm, is seeking an experienced Patent Administrator to join their intellectual property team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in U.S. patent filing procedures and demonstrate the ability to independently manage patent portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee patent prosecution processes, including preparation and filing of documents with the USPTO
  • Interact directly with clients and attorneys, providing exceptional service and support throughout the patent lifecycle
  • Maintain and update patent dockets, ensuring compliance with all deadlines and regulations
  • Draft and proofread patent–related correspondence, including emails, memos, and official documents
  • Assist in the preparation of Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) and other complex filings
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of services
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical patent files
  • Prepare materials for client meetings and presentations

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in U.S. patent filing and portfolio management
  • Strong knowledge of USPTO guidelines and procedures
  • Proficiency in PTO platforms (e.g., EFS, PAIR, EPAS) and docketing systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast–paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with international patent filing procedures
  • Knowledge of patent rules and regulations in multiple jurisdictions
