Job Details

Accurately track billable and non–billable hours; submit entries promptly; meet the required hours for billable and non–billable work.
Follow Fenwick IP's workflow processes and procedures to ensure timely and accurate work delivery.
Draft, prepare, and proofread emails, memoranda, and other documents for internal staff, clients, and assignees.
Assist in drafting and e–filing various legal documents with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office for patent applications, including office action amendments, responses, requests for continued examination, continuation and divisional applications, information disclosure statements, supplemental application data sheets, sequence listings, extensions of time, terminal disclaimers, petitions, notices of appeal, appeal briefs, corrected drawings, assignment recordation, post–grant proceedings, and other necessary documents.
Format utility/provisional specifications for PTO filing and maintain compliance with the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP) structural and formatting requirements.
Serve as an expert in specific client needs for filing and document reporting, utilizing various client extranets and secure data sites.
Review and maintain docket calendars for assigned clients, calculate docket dates independently as a secondary review, and coordinate with docketing staff to ensure docket accuracy and compliance with due dates.
Prepare agendas for client meetings.
Maintain both electronic and paper files.
Serve as a back–up for team members as needed, and work flexible and dependable overtime as required.

Skills and Qualifications:
Skilled in navigating PTO platforms such as EFS, PAIR, EPAS, WIPO, and PTO Financial Manager.
Comprehensive understanding of U.S. patents.
Complex IDS Preparation: Experience in preparing complex IDSs and staying updated on related rules and processes, including correct citation of references.
Strong knowledge of IP docketing systems.
