Patent Agent
Location: Boston, MA Charlotte, NC Minneapolis, MN Nationwide (Hybrid)
Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a Patent Agent to join their Intellectual Property group. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility between office and remote work, with the expectation to be in the office 1–2 days a week. The position is available in the firm's Boston, Charlotte, or Minneapolis offices, with potential for nationwide applicants.
Candidate Profile:
- Engineering or computer science undergraduate degree (mechanical, electrical, biomedical, or related field preferred).
- At least two years of substantive experience in patent drafting and prosecution(link removed)>
- Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Strong academic credentials, excellent writing, and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients in a variety of industries, such as medical devices and marine industries.
- Manage U.S. and international patent portfolios, drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
- Conduct due diligence investigations and perform freedom–to–operate and landscape analyses.
- Work closely with team attorneys to identify solutions and opportunities for clients with diverse intellectual property needs.
