We're looking for an experienced Senior Product Counsel to join our Legal team. We prefer to have someone onsite 2x week hybrid in San Jose, CA and/or Remote in the Pacific Time Zone. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product & Privacy Legal, you will:

  • Support new product releases, regulatory assessments, adoption of novel technologies (e.g., generative AI, large language model), and other product–related programs.
  • Partner with teams (product management, privacy, security, cloud operations, and compliance) to address new privacy, AI/ML, security, and regulatory requirements in Zscaler's products and services.
  • Create and lead trainings and presentations on product due diligence, generative AI best practices, data privacy, and other relevant topics.
  • Identify, design, and implement processes that support and keep pace with product innovations while ensuring compliance with internal risk management.
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate technology, distribution, licensing, and other commercial agreements related to the introduction of new products and features.
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
  • 6+ years in product and privacy counseling experience in–house, or a combination of both in–house and private practice – with at least 3 of those years in a product legal role at a cloud, software, or SaaS technology company.
  • Experience supporting product management and engineering partners at technology companies.
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Knowledge in as many of the following areas as possible: data privacy, AI governance, open–source software, intellectual property, contract negotiation, and cloud computing.
  • Experience leading complex projects involving stakeholders across subject matter domains.
  • Identify, differentiate, and weigh conflicting risks practically and find creative solutions to novel, complex problems.
