615 Ventures is a Nashville–based investment firm that creates value through the acquisition and management of commercial real estate nationwide. 615 Ventures manages retail, office, industrial, SNTL and residential assets across seven U.S. markets. In addition to our commercial real estate efforts, we also evaluate company acquisitions primarily in the greater Nashville, TN area.
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced General Counsel to join our ambitious team. In this role, you will oversee and manage all legal matters across The 615 Group's diverse businesses. Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing commercial real estate leases and sale agreements, negotiating commercial contracts, handling employment law and litigation, managing mergers and acquisitions processes, overseeing communication with external counsel, ensuring compliance with international business and data privacy regulations, and addressing a variety of other legal needs as they arise. As the ideal candidate, you will serve as a strategic advisor to the Founder & CEO, the leadership team, and key stakeholders, providing comprehensive guidance on all legal aspects of our operations.

What you'll do
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including real estate leases, sales agreements, vendor and partnership contracts, purchase agreements, and more. Ensure all contracts align with the company's strategic goals and mitigate potential risks.
- Advise on employment law matters, including employee relations, policy compliance, and dispute resolution. Collaborate closely with HR to develop and implement company policies that comply with local and international laws.
- Lead and manage all legal aspects of real estate and M&A transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and post–transaction integration. Provide strategic guidance to the leadership team on potential risks and opportunities related to these activities.
- Identify, assess, and manage legal risks across the company. Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard the company's interests.
- Monitor and advise on regulatory developments that may impact the company's operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, national, and international regulations and industry standards, with a particular focus on data privacy and governance.
- Protect and manage the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Oversee and manage all litigation matters, working with external counsel as necessary, and represent the company's interests in disputes.
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to the business, providing clear and actionable legal advice on various matters.
- Manage other legal team members, including a contract specialist.
Who you are
- Reside in or are willing to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee.
- Have a minimum of 8 years of legal experience in law firms and/or in–house legal departments.
- Possess a strong track record in drafting and negotiating contracts, managing litigation, and ensuring the company's interests are protected.
- Have extensive experience advising on employment law matters, developing compliant policies, and handling employment disputes. You collaborate closely with HR to ensure adherence to local and international labor laws.
- Have led and managed the legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, from due diligence to post–transaction integration. You are skilled at identifying risks and opportunities in potential deals and providing clear, actionable advice.
- Excel at offering strategic legal guidance to executive teams and boards, balancing legal risks with business objectives. You anticipate potential legal challenges and proactively develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Have a deep understanding of global compliance and regulatory requirements, ensuring the company adheres to all relevant laws and industry standards.
- Are adept at navigating the complexities of a global business and have experience with international legal issues.
- Work effectively with cross–functional teams, communicate complex legal concepts clearly, and thrive in a fast–paced, global environment.
