PurpleLab, a leading Healthtech company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our leadership, you will provide comprehensive legal guidance to support our mission of spurring value–driven innovation in healthcare to improve patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare regulations, data privacy, and contract law, with the ability to navigate the complex legal landscape of the healthcare data analytics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal counsel to executives and management on various legal issues affecting the business, with a focus on healthcare data analytics and real–world evidence.
- Oversee and participate in the drafting, review, and negotiation of customer and vendor contracts in the life science and advertising space, with particular attention to data usage agreements and privacy considerations.
- Ensure company compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA, healthcare regulations, state privacy laws, trademark/copyright law, and employment law.
- Identify and manage legal risks related to the use of healthcare data and analytics, implementing strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Provide legal guidance on employment–related matters, including contracts, policies, and disputes for our remote workforce.
- Stay abreast of evolving legislation affecting the healthcare technology sector and the use of real–world evidence in healthcare innovation.
- Handle internal contracts, litigation issues, and general legal matters for the company.
- Collaborate with cross–functional teams to ensure legal compliance in the development and deployment of our HealthNexus no–code analytics platform.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Bar admission and good standing in at least one U.S. state.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of relevant legal experience, with a strong preference for experience in healthcare technology, data privacy, or life sciences.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA, and data protection laws.
- Strong understanding of intellectual property law as it pertains to software and data analytics.
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills, particularly in technology and data related agreements.
- Proven ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable business advice.
- Strong analytical and problem–solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
- Experience with or understanding of real–world evidence and its applications in healthcare is a plus.
