Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP seeks a full-time Intellectual Property Paralegal with 4-7 years experience in a law firm or corporate in-house legal department setting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IP law, be detail-oriented, and capable of managing a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of U.S. and international trademark and patent applications, including monitoring and managing deadlines.
• Conduct IP searches and assist with clearance processes for trademarks and patents.
• Prepare and manage intellectual property agreements such as licenses, assignments, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
• Maintain IP docketing systems to track filing deadlines, maintenance fees, and other critical dates.
• Correspond with clients
Qualifications:
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in legal studies, Business, or a related field.
• Completion of a Paralegal Certification Program (ABA-approved preferred).
• Familiarity with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) filing procedures and docketing systems.
• Understanding of intellectual property laws and regulations, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets.
• Proficiency in IP management software and databases (e.g., AppColl, IPDAS, Anaqua, or comparable tools).
• Strong research skills, with the ability to independently conduct trademark and patent searches.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple cases and deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft and review IP-related documents and correspond with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research databases (LexisNexis, Westlaw).
• Experience using IP docketing systems to manage deadlines and filings.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
