What You Will Do:
This position will sit in our Roseland, NJ office and currently offers a hybrid remote work opportunity.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Docket and maintain deadlines relating to all phases of trademark prosecution and enforcement matters in trademark docketing system.
- Review all incoming correspondence received in trademark inbox from USPTO, foreign associates, attorneys and paralegals and perform essential docketing functions.
- Prepare comprehensive portfolio, docket and status reports for circulation, as needed, to attorneys and clients.
- Facilitate incoming/outgoing transfers of trademark portfolios.
- Assist with recording changes in title, owner, address, and counsel, as appropriate.
- Support paralegals with trademark maintenance (extensions, renewals, use filings, etc.) by reviewing docket, using established forms to prepare and send correspondence to clients about upcoming deadlines, filing basic maintenance forms in the USPTO.
- Prepare written communications to foreign associates, attorneys and clients during screening, filing, prosecution and maintenance of domestic and foreign trademark applications and registrations.
- Prepare estimates relating to domestic and foreign trademark tasks such as, but not limited to, searches, filings and global assignment projects.
- Save official communications and emails to firm’s document management system.
- Prepare formal documents (power of attorney, assignments, etc.) and coordinate client execution/legalization of the same as needed.
- Assist with diligence searches, research assignments and administrative projects, as needed, and prepare reports in connection therewith.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of CPi or other trademark docketing software is required.
- Experience navigating trademark office websites (TEAS, TSDR, TTAB, WIPO, TMView)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college is preferred.
- 3 plus years of law firm experience is preferred.
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft software products with Excel skills preferred.
- Enjoy working with a team.
Office Location: Roseland, NJ
Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
